X101 Chief Peter Powell & K-9 Tango

Chief Powell & TangoChief Powell has been a police officer for over 12 years. He began his law enforcement career with the Pulaski Co. Sheriff's office. He rose through the ranks of the Cammack Village Police Department, to his current position as the Chief of Police. He became a canine handler in March of 2006. His partner- Tango is a Belgian Malinois imported from Belgium.

Chief Powell and Tango are trained and certified as a team by the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association in criminal apprehension, handler protection, tracking, article/building search and narcotic detection.

Tango can locate the odor of six different narcotic substances; Marijuana, Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine, Ecstasy and Xanax. In Tangos short time in service he has located over fifty pounds of Marijuana, and several ounces of Cocaine and Methamphetamine.
